The African Traditional Wedding or The English Wedding. Which Do You Prefer?

ti1

The last month has been one of much celebration. We saw the beautiful wedding optics of musician Solange Knowles Ferguson and in true Knowles style, they radiated with elegance and originality. A few days later, images of Tiwa Savage’s one year anniversary commemoration were posted on Instagram with the traditional beauty of a Nigerian wedding.  Observing these two very different celebrations forced me to question which is better, a traditional wedding or a more modern one. Could both concepts be merged together and where would you find a compromise? Would you be willing to swap the bridal beads and tiara for a caped dress?

I suppose the overarching question is whether it should really matter how you get married as long as you do. I mean in the past a humble jumping over of a broom was enough to legitimise a marriage.

So, the question is, if you had to choose between both ceremonies, which would it be and why?
