Ghana Braids and Twist is a very common style throughout the continent. This kind of hairstyle requires a special skill and technique to create it.

Some call it ‘banana cornrow, kotonu braids, Cherokee cornrow, invisible cornrow, Ghana cornrow or pencil braids; whatever you call it, the style rocks! It’s a very unique way of braiding that requires a lot of creativity. It can be worn by women of all ages and looks great on almost anyone.

But a style more popular at the moment are box braids. It’s even reached Hollywood with celebrities such as Beyonce are now regularly seen adorned with an array of jumbo plaits.

Although not a design intended to be worn for a long period of time, these braids look stunning when installed properly. Dressed up or down this look just works!
