Why We’re So Excited it’s Movember!

We are three days deep into November which means we are three days deep into Movember! What is movember you ask? The Movember Foundation are the a charity that raises awareness and tackles men’s biggest health issues: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention.

Over the past 13 years they have funded over 1,200 men’s health projects all over the world and hope to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%, by 2030.

There are many ways to join and donate to this great cause (and ladies can also join in too!).

  1. Grow Your Mo – For 30 days grow your moustache and raise funds for men’s health! More information here.
  2. Take The Move Challenge – Challenge yourself to get physically active and raise funds for men’s health! More information here.
  3. Host An Event – Get together for a Movember event. Any excuse for a good time! More information here.

If you know someone participating then you can search and donate through them here.

You can also donate directly to the Movember Foundation here (you can also donate at any time of the year!)

Now lies the question, how do you keep your moustache under control for 30 days? Well we at Glam Africa have some useful tips for you!

Condition – Conditioning your moustache will do wonders in keeping it soft and stoping any early growth itching and tickling.

Trim and Comb – Trimming your Mo will keep it tidy and stop it from going wild. Comb your moustache before trimming it and sure your hair is dry as hair expands when wet and retracts when dry.

Moisturise – Moisturise your moustache at least twice a day as the skin underneath your moustache will get dry and flaky.

And lastly, while you grow out moustache, Movember Foundation has given you some ideas on to which Mo to rock this year.
