Jidenna releases 85 To Africa album.

Jidenna might sometimes sound like American in his sounds, that’s only a minute part of the singer who largely likes to carry Africa with him all the time.

Born in America, but spends a portion of his life back in his home country of Nigeria, christened Jidenna Theodore Mobisson, from which he took the first name to the showbiz world. Jidenna made a remarkable impact to properly introduced himself to the music world with Classic Man, which also inspired a different style in fashion. Since the release of the single, he continued to drop a collection of songs which celebrate his American-Africa heritage under one umbrella called The Chief, and the Boomerang EP.

However, on his latest album 85 To Africa, Jidenna really united black people in the world by infusing each song on the album with African rhythms, songs like Worth The Weight featuring Seun Kuti recollects white supremacy, reminds Africans of the history and culture of the continent that shouldn’t be thrown into the trash, but rather stay in touch with Africa all the time.

That isn’t the only feature on the album, Jidenna recruited American rapper Goldlink, and they worked together on Babouche, his collaboration with Nigerian singer Mr Eazi titled Zodi will send you straight to the dance floor, the eleventh song on the album ‘The Other Half‘, being the last one has female singer Alexe Belle and Isis Valentino, who prefers to be called St. Beauty, and singer Marian Mereba, known on stage as Mereba.

The aforementioned songs add to well-garnished ones including 85 To Africa, Tribe, Sou Sou, Sufi Woman, Vaporiza, Pretty & Afraid, Jungle Fever. Jidenna wants to make a statement to diasporans and he just did that with this lovely album.
