It’s definitely a good time to be an African musician especially those in the Afrobeat genre like Nigeria’s Davido.
Afrobeat has undoubtedly become a huge genre on the world map, with a lot of music lovers and practitioners likening its dominance to reggae and dancehall. Nigerian musician Davido, born David Adedeji Adeleke dropped a new album, A Good Time, and he on a global promotion tour.
He was spotted at the Madison Square Garden with rap megastar, J.Cole, sensational vocalist, Trey Songz, bubbling actress and one of the highest-paid screen queens, Ellen Pompeo. The had a good time watching Knicks vs Nets basketball game, where Davido had his own customized shirt.
On the A Good Time album, Davido brought Popcaan, Chris Brown, Zlatan, Naira Marley, Wurld, Yonda, and more for variety on different tracks, that are fans favourite already. Additionally, the album was released on November 22nd, after months of teasing singles like Blow My Mind, Popcaan, Assurance, Fall and If.
Davido is currently among the most viewed Nigerian acts on Youtube. He is in the United States promoting the album, which might be accompanied with shows and interviews.
