Multinational shoes, clothing and accessories manufacturing company, Adidas has creatively teamed up with one of Africa’s foremost multitalented individual, Trevor Stuurman with the main focus on visual artistry to deliver a very beautiful Samba campaign.
Trevor is an Africa who believes so much in the use of African originated props in his works, he made good use this time around of handwoven authentic Ghanaian kente cloth. The kente cloth carries Ghana’s unique history and heritage in the fashion world and is very much revered in the country and other parts of the continent.
Kente symbolises royalty and richness in some part of Ghana and has been carried on from generation to generation with all the needed fashion craftmanship still intact. The campaign also features Uno Gondo and Lindiwe Ngubeni, with Samba coming in two forms namely; Samba OG and Samba Rose. Football is enjoyed by all on the continent, it is one of the grass root sports patronized by both the old and young.
