Issa Rae, the co-creator and star of popular American comedy series Insecure based on the lifestyle of black people, has inked a new deal with Fox to play the lead role in the forthcoming romantic comedy, American Prince.

In the movie, Rae plays a normal American woman who travelled to London but was quickly ushered into the luxury lifestyle in the city, finding love in the process. We can’t confirm the release date but the script is currently being written Amy Aniobi. Amy is also the co-creator of Insecure, so it ideal for her to reunite with Issa to create more screen magic.

American-Canadian filmmaker, Stella Meghie will direct the film while Jessie Henderson and Brendan O’Brien are the producers. Needless to say, we absolutely can’t wait for this!
