It’s been a long time coming but winter is finally among us ladies! With it come cold weather and a cool new wardrobe. Any excuse to shop is a good excuse and a change of season is definitely one of them. As the cold wind blows in a new range of sensationally cool styles, lets assess the do’s and do not’s of this coming season.

Last year we saw an array of berries and browns invade out wardrobe, accompanying with it thickly knitted jumpers and snoods. This year however we are seeing more icy colours, shades of subtle nudes, baby blues and pale pinks. Delicacy is the key as styles try to embody the fragility and shimmer of a snowflake.

Does it mean that last year’s trend has no place this season? Of course not! Be creative. Could your berry skirt be colour blocked with an ice blue or almond shirt? Could that old jumper you have be cropped and worn with a statement diamante necklace?

I am a huge fan of the oversized boyfriend coat. It has the ability to be dressed up and down. Try throwing a camel BF coat over that fitted wool dress you have hiding in your closet. Put on a pair of heeled knee-length boots and you’re ready to go.

And what of the tribal cape we are seeing oh so often? Try it with a turtle-neck midi dress and complimentary pointed toe heels and clutch to capture the editorially chic look.
