Fans of South African rapper, Cassper Nyovest will have to wait maybe another year to see if their rap hero will eventually change his mind and submit his works for nominations for the South African Music Awards (Samas).

Regarded as the biggest music ceremony in South Africa just like most countries in the world do, awarding the best for the year under review, the rapper decided not to bring his work, ‘Thuto’, for consideration.

He was on Twitter to state the fact telling fans he had a long debate in the office on his refusal to partake in the ceremony before finally arriving at a decision, he only wished to be associated with the ceremony on performance grounds but, not to be nominated.

Nope. I didn’t submit Thuto for the Samas. It’s been a long debate at the office and as much as I love making the fans Happy I’m just over the Samas. I wish I could just perform and not take part in the award ceremony. I just love putting on world-class performances you know‘. Cassper wrote.

‘Thuto’ is the third studio album by Cassper Nyovest, released in 2017, containing 16 songs.
