Heartwarming information from the Cheif Executive Officer of EbonyLife Films, Mo Abudu after her meeting with renowned Nigerian playwright, poet and essayist, Wole Soyinka over Lunch with the idea of developing his play ‘Death and the King’s Horseman’ into a film.
‘Death and the King’s Horseman’ is based on a real-life story that occurred in Nigeria during the British colonial rule, according to the tradition of the people, the horseman of a king must kill himself after the death of his master. But in this case, the horseman was not allowed to go ahead with the norm.
An interesting storyline that deserves to be on the big screen and this announcement served as the first step of translating the African stories the way they should be done. Let the countdown to seeing ‘Death and the King’s Horseman’ begins, we can’t wait.
