Celebrating the beauty of a black woman, Dutch born artist Ingrid Baars displays artistry on a digital platform in her series “L’Afrique”.
L’Afrique represents a staunch departure from the colonialist gaze often employed when Western artists try to use black African women as their muse.
Black, crown, tears, beauty, curves and colour – these are the plain elements we see in her work. It is breathtaking and stunning.
NB: Baars’ works are currently on view at Ozwald Boateng’s shop in London at 30 Savile Row.
