It’s become a norm to see the new records set in different cinemas in different countries by the latest hit animated remake of The Lion King by Disney.
Gradually, the movie has climbed to the third spot in South African box office by surpassing the R100 Million Mark set in the country. The planning and marketing of the movie have been worthy of emulation, starting from the stars that were featured including pop icon Beyoncé, who curated the album The Lion King: The Gift for the movie, tapping stars from almost every corner of the world.
It broke Disney’s box office record in the States by accumulating over $79 Million. From the look of things and how fast the world is craving to have more it, more records will be broken. It has officially joined Black Panther and Avengers: Endgame, all released by Marvel Studios at the R100 million mark and beyond in South Africa.
