Black Panther Star, Lupita Nyong’o continues to pay homage to African traditional hairstyles on the red carpet of her recent events. she celebrated renowned late Nigerian photographer, Johnson Donatus Aihumekeokhai Ojeikere (J.D) at the world premiere of the movie at Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on January 29, 2018.

And that caught the eyes of the world, from the dress on the night to the uniqueness in hairstyle, she later explained with a video on Instagram.

At the 2018 Oscars, Lupita once again went back to Africa to draw inspiration for her hairstyle. The three parts Amasunzu hairstyle is identified with people of Rwanda. She added more beauty to it by holding it with golden accessories. History has it that in the past, anyone who wears the Amasunzu hairstyle is taken to be an unmarried person.

The Fulani and Amasunzu hairstyles were beautifully woven by Vernon François. Both Lupita and Vernon have extended their working relationship which began from the set of Black Panther to continue to celebrate African beauty.
