Ebony, 20, would have celebrated her 21st birthday on February 16, 2018. She dominated the Ghanian music scene with her single ‘Kupe’ and followed it with series of hit songs like ‘Sponsor’, Maame Hw3′ etc in 2017 and quickly became the toast of everyone within the country accompanied with her strong character.
Her new album ‘Bonified’ under Rufftown Records & Midas Touch Inc. was released in the latter part of 2017 and was tipped to win the artist of the year at this year’s Ghana music awards.
She was scheduled to travel outside Ghana on February 10, 2018, to begin her first major European tour but unfortunately, she couldn’t live to fulfil this dream following this tragic incident.
Celebrities took to Twitter to express their disbelief over the demise of the talented singer:

Ebony Reigns is dead. Police confirmed the Ghanaian dancehall/Afrobeats artist died in a motor accident on the Accra-Kumasi Highway. Apparently just a week to her 21st birthday.

It is shocking & sad that a young, vibrant & hardworking lady like Ebony had to pass in such a manner. She was with me a few days ago & had told me she wanted to come to church. I witnessed & prayed with her with a joyous heart only to hear this. – Dr. Lawrence Tetteh.#Joy997FM pic.twitter.com/h69nnCcTep
