Since the release of Rafiki by Kenyan Filmmaker, Wanuri Kahiu, it has gone through various phases back home in Kenya before getting needed nod to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival, France.

Cannes Film Festival 2018 provided the right platform for the film to be showcased to a global audience who loved the storyline of two ladies Kena (Samantha Mugatsia) and Ziki (Sheila Munyiva) going through against all odds to fall in love with each other. A practice which is not accepted in Kenya and they have to all through all sorts of pain in society to withstand the test of time.

Rafiki will be shown this time at the Brooklyn Academy of Music from Friday, April 19 through Thursday, April 25. Grab your tickets here for an exciting cinemas experience. In the meantime, enjoy the trailer below.
