She admitted to Rolling Stone, the initial stages in her career, it was troubling even finding love because most men opted for skinny women, they would choose her friends over her. However, Lizzo progressed gradually through the music scene sticking to her natural love for the flute. Fast forward, her single Truth Hurts, wasn’t an instant hit, however, the song blew up years after it was released becoming so huge fans requested for it constantly.

Additionally, she released her new album, Cuz I Love You in April 2019. Her success story had just begun because of the icing on the cake became even larger. When the 2020 Grammy nominations were announced, Lizzo received a record of eight nominations, a surprising feat for her but also goes a long way to show the hard work and the acceptance of herself first, have made the world accept her the more.
