Academy Award-winning actress of Kenyan descent Lupita Nyong’o’s much-anticipated children’s book on colourism is finally out.

Lupita Nyong’o Releases Picture Moving Children’s Book On Colourism Titled ‘Sulwe’

Lupita named the main character of the in the heartwarming self-loved book Sulwe, five-year-old dark skin Kenyan girl among her family members and school mate, all she wanted is to be beautiful by having the same skin colour as her mother, however, a magical night sky journey changed everything for Sulwe, and she began to appreciate her skin colour.

The story was brought to live by fellow author Vashti Harrison, who drew images of Sulwe and coloured each page of the book.
