“We shouldn’t have to sacrifice fashion and style when building our dream bodies”
After making the remarkable transition from a size 24 to a size 8, Cathy Martin took the bold step of launching her own fitness brand, BodyByCathy. A registered nurse practitioner and nutrition weight management consultant, Cathy has spent most of her life helping other people to live healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives.

“I launched BodyByCathy five years ago with a focus on weight-loss and nutrition, using social media as my main platform. People from all over the world started following me, asking for my help and sharing their stories of weight-loss trials and failures.”
Five years later, Cathy is all set to expand the Body By Cathy imprint even further with her knew clothing collection, FitWearByCathy, designed specifically to help women to embrace their bodies whilst working towards their individual weight loss goals. Cathy Martin, after seeing (and experiencing firsthand) a gaping hole in the fitness industry, she is taking it upon herself to produce inclusive and fashionable gym-wear for all shapes and sizes.
“I was ashamed to go to the gym because I didn’t have anything to wear other than black baggy t-shirts and baggy jogging bottoms. Today, there are choices for plus sizes, but often at the expense of quality and design. I want people to feel confident, fabulous, empowered regardless of the shape or size, and I have sourced the best manufacturer to help me achieve exactly that.”
Outside of the BodyByCathy brand, Cathy has made headway as a partner in her husband’s healthcare consultancy company, Anthony Martin Advisory, and is a trustee of The Martin Reach, a charity that aims to promote education and provide healthcare for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
“I am a firm believer in giving back and supporting those who have helped me on my journey and people in need. I believe education is the greatest equaliser, and want to show people, especially children, that a world of opportunity is within their reach.”
From inspiring people to reach their fitness goals to years of philanthropic endeavours to her name, Cathy Martin is a true inspiration, and we can’t wait to see what else lies in store for her in the years to come.
