Carving a reputable name for itself as one of the most well attended and respected film festivals in the world, the Cannes Film Festival is underway in France. A country well versed in fashion contributes greatly to the world’s fashion industry. In its 71st edition, superstars from all spectrum of the globe are either there or on their way.
Prior to the commencement of the festival, British supermodel Naomi Campbell announced her Fashion For Relief event under theme ’Race For Equality’. Launched in 2005, the event raises funds during the Cannes Film Festival to tackle issues affecting people around the world. So far, she has donated and helped in providing aid to Ebola, earthquakes victims and more.
On the runway, this year to help Naomi with her cause were notable names with the fashion and modelling world – Bella Hadid & Winnie Harlow at the Aéroport Cannes Mandelieu.
Unfortunately, Naomi broke a lot of hearts when she hinted at a possibility of retiring soon from the modelling after 32 years of giving the world nothing but her best.
’’I don’t know if I can walk much longer, it’s been 32 years, ’’ she said. ’’But it’s an honour to walk, I would love for it to be carried on by the younger generation and for me to sit in the audience and watch’’, she added. Should Naomi go on with her retirement plans, what will be your fondest memory of her?
