Pop icon Rihanna was honoured with the President’s Award at the NAACP Image Awards 2020 and she nailed her speech.
The musician, businesswoman and fashion designer reminded everyone in the auditorium and at home watching that togetherness is what all people of colour need to win. For her, it’s not about the personal win but collective wins are so important.
Her charity work through the Clara Lionel Foundation has seen her raised funds to embark on humanitarian projects in the world. Hence, enabling Rihanna to pick the award which has been won in the past by Jay Z, Muhammad Ali, Soledad O’Brien, Lauryn Hill and more.
