UK’s grime star Stormzy has been booked to headline Rocking The Daisies 2020 in South Africa from October 2nd to 4th.
The announcement was made by the organizers on twitter revealing Stormzy whose real name is Michael Ebenazer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr., as the headline act ahead of time. The British musician of Ghanaian descent set and broke records in the country, prominent among them was he becoming the first Black Solo British act to headline Glastonbury Festival 2019.
Through his album, Gang Signs & Prayer, earning him a deserving spot on the country’s music map, and further boosting his presence on the global stage. Stormzy announced a new album within the week titled Heavy Is The Head scheduled for December 13th release, however, he has teased fans with two classic singles, Own It featuring Burna Boy and Ed Sheeran, and Wiley Flow from the album.
Stormzy has gained a good mark in the educational sector as well, by partnering with the University of Cambridge for a free scholarship to brilliant but needy black students across the United Kingdom. The first year so successful, he decided to continue the scholarship this year.
