Ever been to the optical shop feeling mazed at which style and shape of glasses you should purchase? Perhaps that trendy style is not fit for your face shape, so you should rather be more unadventurous than going with the trend. Here is a look at face shapes and sunglasses suitable for each shape.
It is essential that you appreciate the fact that the different shapes sunglasses come in, aren’t for preference and choice, but rather, for style. Each face style complement each glasses style.
There is the Oblong, Diamond, Square, Heart, Oval and Round face.
So uhmm… yeah, let’s hit the nail on it’s head now.
- OBLONG FACE = LARGE, RECTANGULAR THICK FRAMES
The Oblong and rectangular shaped face hold pretty long and narrow angles. To sharpen the soft features and add width to the oblong face, large, rectangular and thick frames are recommended. The rectangular shaped face must avoid small frames and go in for the wayfarer, square, rectangular or shield frames.
- DIAMOND FACE = OVAL/RIMLESS FRAMES
These are one of the least common face shapes, characterized by a narrow forehead and jawline, with angular cheekbones acting as the widest point of the face. Oval or rimless frames with gentle curves will compliment this face shape, ensuring frames are no wider than the wearers cheekbones.
- SQUARE FACE = ROUND/OVAL FRAMES
The Square face individual must go in for the round or oval shaped frames like the butterfly or aviator shapes to soften their shape features by rounding them.
- HEART SHAPE = WIDE LOWER EDGE FRAMES
The heart shaped faces are convex shapes that narrow from the temples to the chin, thus a wide lower edge framed glasses are recommended to shift the attention downwards and elongate the face.
- OVAL SHAPE = ANY SHAPE FRAME
Although the Oval shape face can wear any shape frame, avoid huge frames that cover up your symmetrical features, mainly your distinct cheekbones choose glasses that cover the face from the eyebrows to the cheekbones.
- ROUND FACE = RECTANGULAR/SHIELD/SQUARE FRAMES
Since this face has less defined angles as compared to the other faces, frames that suit round faces must have sharp and angular lines that will make the face look thinner and sharper whiles elongating it. Thus, rectangular, wrap, square and shield shapes are the best choice for you.
