Afrobeat is taking over the world gradually, it is becoming the genre of choice for most music enthusiasts.
Several acts from Africa are finding a lot of hit songs in the genre, well-established and known Afrobeat singers like Tiwa Savage are doing their best to get the genre to the top of the world music map.
Tiwa Savage sat in an interview with Okay Africa where she re-echoed the inspiration for her new single 49-99, applauding Nigerian Afrobeat icon for coining the term. She explained that women in music have to work twice or thrice their male conterpart in other to make a breakthrough.
From the interview, Tiwa also touched on how the desire to do music started at early with her determination to join the youth choir in the church.
