December is approaching, designers including Virgil Abloh are releasing new collections just in time for the festive season, his latest is the Athlete in Progress with Nike.
“I started talking with Nike about this women’s running project last summer and at the time, I was very much inspired by the aesthetic and style of track and field athletes. As a result, I invited some of Nike’s elite track and field champions to participate in my SS19 Off-White runway show as the natural forerunner to developing and showcasing the collection,” Virgil said regarding the new collection.
Vashti Cunningham, Cecilia Yeung, English Gardner, Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Athletes Dina Asher-Smith, Nafi Thiam, Caterine Ibarguen, Rénelle Lamote model in the new collection on the runway to launch it, and Caster Semenya was featured in the campaign shoot.
Virgil Abloh is also preparing for the launch of 2054 collection via Louis Vuitton, the fashion giant launched Soho pop-up shop in New York ahead of the launch on December 6th.
