The song talks about love and the little things that lead to separation between lovebirds. Wale explains in his lyrics why he needs a break from the relationship yet still missed the lady he loves. The chorus continues to further touch on why lovebirds sometimes need to try to hold each other even though situations must be otherwise.
Bryson Tiller brings his smooth and soft voice on the song, sharing his experience in a relationship with his partner. Visuals for the song was directed by Spike Tey.
