I am a huge cookie addict, there! i said it and i didn’t die. LoL. I mean who doesn’t love cookies? Crispy and chewy, doughy yet fully baked. Perfectly buttery and sweet.
Chocolate cookies are part of my life. I eat them for creativity, when am bored, when watching movies, when am sulking, and every other time!
If you’re a cookie lover like me, settle down please, let’s dig in. I would usually buy cookies and stock them but my bank account started to give me the side eye! I had to lay back, get creative and make my own homemade chocolate cookies. Best decision i ever made.
So friends today, i want to share a very simple and easy recipe to homemade chocolate cookies. Here are the ingredients you’ll need;
- 1 cup salted butter softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips (or chunks, or chopped chocolate)
These ingredients are easily available in the shopping mall. When you have your ingredients ready;
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking pan (cookie baking pan) with parchment paper and set aside.
In a separate bowl mix flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder. Set aside.
Cream together butter and sugars until combined.
Beat in eggs and vanilla until fluffy.
Mix in the dry ingredients until combined.
Add 12 oz package of chocolate chips and mix well.
Roll 2-3 TBS (depending on how large you like your cookies) of dough at a time into balls and place them evenly spaced on your prepared cookie sheets.
Bake in preheated oven for approximately 8-10 minutes. Take them out when they are just BARELY starting to turn brown.
Let them sit on the baking pan for 2 minutes before removing to cooling rack.
When you remove the cookies from the oven they will still look doughy. THIS is the secret that makes these cookies so absolutely amazing!
At the end of the baking time, these chocolate chip cookies won’t look done but they are!
Allow to cool and then serve with tea, hot coffee or warm milk (my personal favorite).
